My
father has been a dedicated employee of TWA since July,
1965. In his 36 years, our family weathered a layoff due
to a pilot/flight attendent strike (70's), my father staying 8
days straight at CVG airport because of a blizzard, and the many
financial ups and downs. Despite the bad times, my father
nevered waivered in his loyalty to TWA.
Because of his flight privileges, my brothers and I were able to
travel all over the world. My favorite trip was a surprise
family vacation. When I was 9, (my brothers were 7 and
11), we got on a plane with the destination unknown to us. We
landed in Los Angeles and spent a week at Disneyland. It
was just one of many cool places were we privileged to visit.
I now find myself consoling my father, as does my mother and
brothers. We will all mourn the death of our great friend
through a big part of our lives. TWA will remain the
greatest airline to have ever flown in our hearts.
