I am a
very big and long time TWA Fan, although not a real FF, as I am
living in Asia (BKK) since 11 years and TW sadly never flew
here..
My best memory of TWA was as part of a round the world trip that
I took back in 1988.. I used TWA on sectors FRA-JFK-LAX-HNL and
it was awesome.. I specially liked the crews who were all so
dedicated and friendly.. and then the wonderful Lockheed TriStar
airplane.. may be the most beautiful plane ever build..
Shortly before the sad dismise of TWA, in 2001, I had the
pleasure and honor to be in NYC so I went straight to JFK
Terminal 5 and stayed there for an entire day just to see and
watch and get a last feeling of TWA.. (I instantly bought a
ticket JFK-STL-JFK to have my last flying experience with TWA)
.. sad day it was, because it was very obvious at that time that
this will all come to a close..
Now at my home all that I have left is a well kept and protected
original TWA timetable from December 2000, which I picked up
from TWA's town office in LON that year..
I just like to thank you, the staff, people and whoever was
affiliated with TWA, for keeping that wonderful airline flying..
IT IS THE BEST AIRLINE EVER !!!
Don't know if anyone will ever revive the name TWA, but I
certainly hope so..
